wiTECH 2.0 – Communication with engine control module (ECM) impossible

(*) The bulletin applies to the following models: Giulia, Stelvio, Giulietta, MiTo, 4C, Punto, Tipo, 500, 500X, 500X MCA, 500L, Freemont, Panda, 124 Spider, Fiorino, Qubo, Ducato, Doblò, Talento, Fullback, Ypsilon, Voyager, Thema, Flavia.

In Areas where Tutorship is present, the reports must be sent through the appropriate channel, whereas in Areas where it is not present, draft a ticket for the Te.Se.O. according to the standard procedure.

TECHNICAL CAUSE

When a diagnostic session is started, wiTECH 2.0 shows the message stating that the ISO CODE of the engine control module (ECM) IS NOT RECOGNISED.

If you start a new diagnostic session or press the “Try Again” button, wiTECH 2.0 establishes communication with the ECM.

OPERATION

When the fault appears, the Repairer must press the "TRY AGAIN" button without REPLACING ANY COMPONENTS.

Only contact the wiTECH 2.0 helpdesk if the fault is still present after the "TRY AGAIN" button has been pressed.
