The vehicle has a high brightness rear fog lamp located in the left rear light cluster.

The rear fog light is activated by pressing the relevant button on the central switch unit; with the lights on the relevant warning light comes on in the instrument panel.

Rear fog light activation is controlled by the Body Computer.

The function requires the following conditions to be activated:

  • enablement signal with key inserted and turned to MAR-ON;

  • command signal coming from the button on the central control panel;

  • dipped beam headlights or fog lights activated signal.

If the dipped beam headlights and fog lights are deactivated, the rear fog light is turned off even if the respective operating key is active. If the above enablement signals are re-activated, the function stays off until a new command is received from the dedicated key.

The correct operation of the light is controlled by the Body Computer, which is able to detect the following faults:

  • open load also without any command;

  • load short circuited to earth or Vbatt;

  • bulb missing or replaced with one of lower power (5 W instead of 21 W).

When one of the situations described above occurs, the Body Computer makes the failure status available to the CAN: a special "exterior light failure" warning light switches on in the instrument panel and, at the same time, the information is shown in the display.
