OPERATIONS AT THE DEALERSHIPS

To prevent possible seizure and impossibility of opening the doors when the outside temperature ranges below 0°C, it is recommended to apply PFPE (perfluoropolyether) low-viscosity, fluid-based products grease or synthetic lubricant (such as Krytox made by Dupont or equivalent product), on all the vehicle door housing weatherstrips.

When these products are applied on door housings prevent sticking, freezing, noise and ageing; in addition they increase wear resistance in the most strained points and ensure a longer life thanks to the very good load capacity of the lubricating film.

Figure 1 below shows the weatherstrips for the side door housing.

For the use of chemicals closely follow the instructions and warnings on the safety sheet that the supplier must give the user in accordance with the laws in force in the area (for Italy in accordance with Legislative Decrees 52/97 and 65/03 and subsequent modifications and additions).
