For the effective and correct use when equipping the basic system of the New Ducato model, FIAT AUTO has prepared specific connecting points to be used for additional systems.

This preparation has been necessary to prevent any type of incorrect handling of the basic design in order to ensure its integrity and consequently the maintenance of the warranty.

The vehicle may be equipped with an additional socket for the conversion version located on the right front door pillar.

This socket allows the use of a series of signals useful for possible conversions (camper, special versions, etc.) that the New Ducato can support.

The following signals may be available depending on the version:

• B-CAN;

• Ignition-operated power supply (INT);

• Direct battery power supply (+30);

• Power earth;

• Vehicle speed repetition (VSO);

• Courtesy light timer power supply (SBMT);

• Courtesy light negative control (dimmer);

• Lock locking/unlocking control;

• Side and rear door status signal;

• D+ repetition outer relay coil negative control;

• Side lights (side markers) relay negative control;

• Additional brake light (3rd brake light);

• Additional heater control;

• A/C Request;

• 12 V permanent power supply (+30) for radio;

• Rear speakers.

If the application of the various trim levels and conversions requires units to be moved (various components, fuel tank, spare wheel, etc.) this is permitted as long as the operation of these assemblies is not adversely affected and the original type of connection is restored and the position is not altered substantially in a transverse direction on the chassis, when the weights make this necessary.

If the need arises to install an item along the routing of a cable from the original system or the routing has to be changed, it can be moved if it is kept intact (not cut).

Some components (dashboard control unit, battery, etc.) belong exclusively to the basic system and therefore cannot be subjected to any type of handling by those carrying out conversions.

The installation of powerful electrical equipment (e.g. frequently used electric motors or electric motors used less frequently but for long periods when the engine is switched off, such as, for example chargers for town use) or a large number of additional electrical appliances may require power that the normal vehicle system is not capable of providing.

In such cases suitable capacity additional batteries should be used.

The vehicle system is designed to supply the necessary power for the equipment that comes with the vehicle with the specific protection and correct size cables guaranteed for each function.

If additional equipment is fitted, suitable protection should be provided and the vehicle system must not be overloaded.

If more powerful batteries have to be used on account of additional load requirements, the vehicle must be fitted with a more powerful alternator.

In any case it is not advisable to install an additional battery which has a capacity of more than 130% of the value (expressed in Ah) on the label on the basic battery.

The additional battery should be earthed using a lead with a suitable section, which is as short as possible and using the points located on the vehicle.
