Refitting

- Position the vehicle on the lift. - Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Op. 5530B54 - Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
1. Undo the fastening (1a) and remove the floor trim (1b). |

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the inspection cover (1b). |

1. Disconnect the electrical connection.
2. Disconnect the fuel supply and return pipe rapid connectors. 3. Remove the retaining band (3a), disconnect the breather pipe (3b) from the submerged pump and remove the gasket (3c). |

Op. 7040H36 CENTRE PILLAR LOWER ELEMENT (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R [Left side] 1. Remove the fuel pipes protective cover. |

1. Remove the retaining band (1a), disconnect the breather pipe (1b) and remove the gasket (1c). |

1. Undo the fuel filler cap and extract it. 2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and remove the fuel cap flap/cover (2b) complete with support and fuel filler cap. |

1. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel filler. |
 |

1. Place a hydraulic lift underneath the fuel tank to support it. 2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and remove the fuel tank mounting brackets (2b). 3. With the help of a second mechanic, operate the hydraulic lift and remove the fuel tank complete with submerged pump and fuel filler pipe. |

Refitting

- With the help of a second mechanic, operate the hydraulic lift and place the fuel tank in position complete with submerged pump and fuel filler pipe. - Fit the fuel tank mounting brackets and tighten the fixing bolts to the recommended torque.
- Remove the hydraulic lift. |

- Tighten the bolts fixing the fuel filler. - Fit the fuel cap flap/cover in place complete with support and fuel filler cap and tighten the fixing bolts. - Tighten the fuel filler cap in place. - Fit a new gasket, connect the breather pipe to the fuel filler and secure it using the band. - Fit the fuel pipes protective cover in place. Op. 7040H36 - Fit a new gasket, connect the breather pipe to the submerged pump and secure it using the band. - Connect the fuel supply and return pipe rapid connectors. - Attach the electrical connection.
- Fit the inspection cover and tighten the fixing bolts. - Fit the floor covering in place and tighten the fastening. - Connect the negative battery terminal.
