Climate control system circuit |
Switch on the climate control system (with engine on) for 10-15 minutes. Switch it off and wait for 45 minutes. Connect the climate control system repressurising station and check that the readings of the pressure values are compatible with the vehicle specifications (if there are no specifications, refer to the table below) |
Go to Step 2 |
The pressure values do not comply with the required specifications |
Empty the circuit, create vacuum and restore the correct coolant pressurisation |

Climate control system circuit |
Switch on the climate control system (with engine running at 1500 rpm) with the minimum fan speed and the lowest temperature. Connect the climate control system repressurising station to the climate control system circuit and check that the readings of the temperature and pressure values are correct. |
End of diagnosis |
Faults detected in the operation of the climate control system |
Go to Step 3 |

|
Climate control system circuit |
Check whether both pressures are low (LP<1 bar, HP<10 bar) |
Go to Step 5 |
Pressure levels incorrect |
Go to Step 4 |
|
|
Condenser circuit |
Check for the presence of seepage on the condenser or on its circuit, using the electronic detector or the UV kit for the leaks |
End of diagnosis |
Leaks in the condenser circuit |
If possible, replace or repair the pipes Op. 5040A50 PIPE FROM AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR TO CONDENSER - R+R or the condenser Op. 5040A40 AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER - R.R. |
|
|
Climate control system circuit |
Check whether only LP is low (LP=0-2 bar, HP=10-14 bar) |
Go to Step 10 |
LP value is too low |
Go to Step 6 |
|
|
Expansion valve |
Check that the expansion valve is operating correctly and make sure that there are no obstructions |
Go to Step 7 |
Expansion valve not operating correctly |
Replace or restore the correct operation of the expansion valve Op. 5040B30 EXPANSION VALVE (ORIFICE TUBE) - R+R |
|
|
Intake duct |
Check that the intake duct is operating correctly and make sure that there are no obstructions |
Go to Step 8 |
Incorrect operation of the intake duct |
Replace or restore the correct operation of the intake duct Op. 5040C18 RECIRCULATION AIR INTAKE UNIT - R.R WITH AIR CONDITIONING CASING REMOVED |
|
|
Pollen filter |
Check the correct operation of the pollen filter |
Go to Step 9 |
Pollen filter obstructed or not operating correctly |
Replace the pollen filter Op. 5010B08 CLIMATE CONTROL OUTSIDE AIR PURIFYING (POLLEN) FILTER - R.R. |
|
|
Capacitor |
Check that the condenser is operating correctly |
End of diagnosis |
Condenser not working correctly |
Replace the condenser Op. 5040A40 |
|
|
Climate control system circuit |
Check whether both pressures are high (LP=3-6 bar, HP=14-20 bar) |
Go to Step 14 |
Pressure values too high |
Go to Step 11 |
|
|
Climate control system circuit |
Check whether emptying and cleaning of the circuit and restoring of the correct levels of coolant have been carried out |
Go to Step 12 |
The procedure has not been carried out yet |
Empty and clean the circuit, then restore the correct levels of coolant |
|
|
Evaporator |
Check the correct operation of the evaporator, specifically check that it is not obstructed due too excessive oil |
Go to Step 13 |
Evaporator not working correctly |
Replace or restore the correct operation of the evaporator Op. 5040C64 A/C EVAPORATOR - R+R |
|
|
Capacitor |
Check the correct operation of the condenser, specifically check that it is not obstructed due too excessive oil |
End of diagnosis |
Condenser not working correctly |
Replace or restore the correct operation of the condenser Op. 5040A40 |
|
|
Climate control system circuit |
Check the pressure values, whether LP is too high (LP=3-6 bar) and HP is too low (HP=8-10 bar) |
End of diagnosis |
Pressure levels incorrect |
Go to Step 15 |
|
|
Expansion valve |
Check the correct operation of expansion valve, specifically check whether it is stuck open |
End of diagnosis |
Expansion valve not operating correctly |
Replace or restore the correct operation of the expansion valve Op. 5040B30 |
