Inspection/control standard ("CALIBRO" Standard)

Cancels and replaces Service News 00.03.14 of 30/05/2014 for validity extension to 500X and Tipo (356) models.

From 1 June 2014 the inspection/control Standard for vehicles during handover processes between Transferor and Receiver (the most common and known "CALIBRO" Standard) will undergo some modifications.

In particular, please note the main innovation, that is the introduction of the check for possible damage UNDER THE BUMPER, because any responsibility for this damage will not be covered to FGA Warranty, rather it is going to be charged to the Transporter involved.

In particular, for a correct filling in of the Damage Sheets, if any damage is found at the bottom of the bumper, proceed as follows:

  • for Fiat-Alfa-Lancia vehicles (with FIAT code), use the new damage area codes for front under-bumper "U1" and rear under-bumper "U2";
  • for Jeep vehicles (with AIAG code) use the damage area codes for under-bumper "87" both for front and rear bumper.

To handle this kind of damage in the best way, for all vehicles already included in FGA logistic on 1 June, "Start-up" chassis" numbers were defined for each model produced in Europe (see annex). Starting from these chassis numbers, all damage to under-bumper areas will be handled as damage due to transportation.

Service Interconsult will handle all the files for claim management, paying attention to:

  • charge the transporters the damage to areas U1-U2 (Fiat Alfa Lancia) or 87 (Jeep) for the vehicles having chassis numbers after "Start Up" chassis;
  • not to handle as transportation damage those to areas U1-U2 (Fiat Alfa Lancia) or 87 (Jeep) for the vehicles having chassis number before "Start Up" chassis.

For vehicles produced in the US/Mexico, starting from 1 June 2014 all vehicles collected from the ports of Zeebrugge-Bremerhaven-Leghorn will be handled as vehicles "after Start Up".

The market logistic departments must forward the information to the providers handled by them.
