Tom Tom PORTABLE NAVIGATOR

The vehicle is available, on request, with a multifunction TomTom Portable Navigation Device (PND) (Copyright © TomTom International BV), with an advanced design that is perfectly integrated with the vehicle.

Direct integration between the TomTom PND and the vehicle is enabled through the system: data from the CAN is used by the PND to improve navigation accuracy, PND voice messages are reproduced by the sound system, and the destination can be programmed using the buttons on the steering wheel or by means of voice controls.

The PND makes use of connectivity with the Blue&Me to exchange information through a wireless Bluetooth© connection.

The device is easy to install and remove, using the specific mounting located in the middle of the dashboard, above the car radio, as shown in the following figure.

The many advantages for the user include:

  • Wireless integration: TomTom is directly inserted in the adapter that can be fitted on the car dashboard mounting. No extra wires or temporary supports are needed.

  • Latest generation navigator: the Blue&Me - TomTom on offer corresponds to the latest model launched by TomTom on the market and includes additional functions such as exclusive customisation for FIAT vehicles.

Vehicle data connectivity

After linking TomTom and Blue&Me through Bluetooth, TomTom receives all data about the vehicle from the CAN and supplies real time information about vehicle use with the same attractive graphics:

  • Advanced Trip Computer: all trip data in a single screen;

  • Reserve warning: in the event of low fuel level, informs the driver and directs him immediately to the closest petrol station, with information about methane and LPG stations as well;

  • Point Of Interest: LPG and methane service stations are included along with petrol and diesel stations and FIAT Dealerships;

  • Telephone: phonebook display, selection and display of the phone call in progress for the mobile paired with the Blue&Me system;

  • eco:Drive Info: real time information about the environmental effects of driving style, with suggestions on how to improve it by handling gearshifting and acceleration correctly.

Steering wheel controls

The TomTom functions can be managed using the buttons on the steering wheel, as with the Blue&Me system.

Blue&Me functions

All Blue&Me functions remain unchanged, such as hands-free mobile phone use and the possibility of listening to your favourite music, by connecting your music storage device to the USB port.
