Refitting

- Position the vehicle on the lift. - Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Op. 5530B54 - Disconnect and insulate the battery terminals.
1. Position a suitable container, remove plug (1b) from brake fluid reservoir (1a) and draw off the fluid with a syringe. |

1. Remove band (1a) and disconnect pipe (1b). 2. Detach the electrical connection for the brake fluid sensor.
3. Undo and disconnect the connectors for the master cylinder supply and return rigid pipes. |

1. Disconnect the vacuum pipe from the brake servo. |

- Working in the passenger compartment: 1. Undo the nuts securing the brake servo to the pedal unit and remove the retaining clip. |

- Working from the engine compartment: - Remove the brake servo complete with brake fluid pump and reservoir and place it on the bench. 1. Undo nuts (1a) and separate brake servo (1b) from brake fluid pump and reservoir (1c). |

Refitting

- Check that the brake servo is not damaged. - Couple the brake servo with the brake fluid pump and reservoir, tighten the nuts. - Working in the passenger compartment: - Position the brake servo in place and tighten the nuts securing it to the pedal unit to the indicated torque.
- Fit the clip. - Working from the engine compartment: - Connect the vacuum pipe to the brake servo. - Connect the connectors for the master cylinder supply and return rigid pipes.
- Secure the electrical connection for the brake fluid sensor.
- Connect the pipe and secure it with the band. - Connect the battery terminals.
