CLAIMED FAULT

Jerking at slow speed in the following conditions:

• Travelling in 2nd - 3rd gear
• Speed slower than 60 km/h
• Engine speed below 2000 rpm

TECHNICAL CAUSE

Software parameters not ideal.

• Once the suspected fault is confirmed, reassure the Customer that the issue will be resolved by updating the software.
• After completing the operation, illustrate what has been done and ensure that the Customer is satisfied.

Service Solution

Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, update the Powertrain Control Module software according to the Operating Cycle below.

OPERATION CYCLE

Before updating the software, perform a Scan Report and save a copy for further investigations.

• Using wiTECHPlus updated to the latest software release, reprogramme the engine control unit.

The vehicle battery must be in full charge conditions or supported by a battery charger/booster battery so as to ensure a rated voltage of 12V during reprogramming.

If the reprogramming process is interrupted/aborted, it must be restarted.

• Reset all errors (DTCs) generated in other modules as a result of reprogramming. At the end of the reprogramming procedure, all the DTCs are automatically displayed to allow for a reset.

After updating the software, perform a Scan Report and save a copy for further investigations.
