Carry out the measurement with all the emission control devices active and at the specified idle speed.

- Insert the probe of an exhaust gas analyser into the end of the exhaust pipe for at least 30 cm.

If the shape of the exhaust tailpipe will not allow the probe to be fully introduced, add an extension that ensures a seal in the join area.

- Wait for the exhaust gas analyser indices to stabilise.

- With the engine idling, check that the CO2 level is within specified limits.
