The daytime running lights (DRL) built into the left-hand (F010) and right-hand (F011) headlights (pin 8) are activated from pins 15 and 30 respectively of connector D of the Body Computer M001 when the latter receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) at pin 2 of connector G. The Body Computer M001 receives a direct battery supply at pin A of connector A. It is connected to the earth of the central dashboard C022 (connector A) via pins 1 and 11 of connector G. The activation control for the side/number plate lights through the steering column switch unit left stalk ring nut H005 receives a reference earth from the Body Computer M001 (pin 45 of connector H) at pin 4 of the connector A of the same steering column stalk. The Body Computer M001 (pin 42 of connector H) receives a single activation signal for the DRL lights (OFF position), the side/number plate lights, the dipped beam headlights and the "AUTO" mode from the steering column stalk H005 (pin 7 of connector A): this signal is coded by a special resistive divider, so that various information can be sent from the steering column stalk to the Body Computer with a single connection. The Body Computer M001 manages the activation of the side lights respectively:
The side lights are activated by rain / dusk sensor K125 in AUTO mode; the sensor dialogues with the Body Computer via serial line A-BUS (connection between pin 2 of rain / dusk sensor K125 and pin 14 of connector F of Body Computer M001). The dusk sensor is supplied (pin 1) by the INT line protected by fuse F49 of the Body Computer M001 (pin 7 of connector E) and is connected through pin 3 to the cab earth C100. On the Medium-long (ML) and Long (L) wheelbase versions there are also side marker lights, divided into front (F066; A left branch, B right branch) and rear (F068; A left branch, B right branch). All the side marker lights receive a direct battery supply from a line protected by fuse B116 and controlled by relay switch J161, both located next to the secondary fuse box B098 and transformer socket B125. The activation of the side marker lights is controlled by the Body Computer M001 which, provides an earth signal, from pin 3 connector H, for the coil for the side marker light relay switch J161, closing the circuit and providing a power supply for all the side marker lights. The connection between pin 5 of connector A of the steering column stalk H005 and pin 57 of connector H of the Body Computer M001 (direction indicators) allows the possible selection of the "parking" lights (with the key to STOP or extracted) on only one of the two vehicle branches (left or right). See E2020 DIRECTION INDICATORS / HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS The Follow me home function is activated by a "main beam headlights flasher" earth signal sent from the steering column stalk H005 (pin 6 connector A) to the Body Computer M001 (pin 43 connector H). The Body Computer is connected, via the CAN line, pins 26 and 11 of connector H, to the instrument panel E050 (pins 5 and 6) to manage the "side lights on" warning light. In addition, if there are faults detected in the circuit or in the bulbs, the Body Computer manages the "exterior light failure" warning light, via the CAN, or, in the case of a failure in the dusk sensor, the "general failure" warning light and the relevant messages in the display. Press the "MODE", "+" and "-" buttons on the left control panel H091 to deactivate the daytime running lights function using the special Set-up menu on the instrument panel display. |
