CLAIMED FAULT

ABS warning light on.

TECHNICAL CAUSE

‏ABS harness detachment from the underfloor crossmember.

Faulty ABS sensor and/or ABS connection to the vehicle harness.

OPERATIONS AT THE DEALERSHIPS

DEALERSHIP BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER

  • Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, reassure the Customer that the fault will be solved by changing the wiring route and the connection position.
  • After the operation, show the Customer what has been done and make sure he is satisfied.

Service Solution

Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, reposition the connections and change the wiring route.

OPERATION CYCLE

Place the vehicle on the lift then, working next to the underfloor crossmember:

  • Prise up the right ABS sensor connection (1 - Fig. 1) and the wiring mounting clip (2) from the securing housing.

  • Prise up the left ABS sensor connection (1 - Fig. 2) from the securing housing and the wiring mounting clip (2).

  • Take out the mounting clip (1 - Fig. 3) from the connector block (2) of the right ABS sensor and the left ABS sensor; replace it with a new one, taken from the Spare Part Dpt.

  • Working on the left side, fasten the connection (1 - Fig. 4) of the left ABS sensor securing it on the housing on the side of the crossmember, as shown in Fig. 4;
  • Secure the wiring clip (2) in the housing previously dedicated to the sensor connection, laying the wiring as shown.

  • Engage the left ABS sensor cable (1 - Fig. 5) by a new clip (2) no. 51715767, taken from the Spare Parts Dtp.

  • Working on the right side, fasten the connection (1 - Fig. 6) of the right ABS sensor securing it on the housing on the side of the crossmember, as shown in figure;
  • Cut and remove the unused mounting clip (2).

Remove the vehicle from the lift.
