E6010 HEATER - DESCRIPTION (Additional heater (Webasto), Euro 5)
|
The climate in the vehicle is controlled by means of the duct/distributor and heater unit and is controlled via the two control knobs and ring nuts in the dashboard:
-
the ring nut on the left-hand knob mechanically controls the blend of hot and cold air;
-
the left knob allows the adjustment, through an electric control, of the air ventilation at four different speeds;
-
via a cable, the ring nut on the right-hand knob mechanically controls the opening of the flaps that govern air flow distribution;
-
the right knob makes it possible to select whether or not to set the "recirculation" function which prevents the intake of new air into the passenger compartment.
The fan is controlled by a dedicated relay switch and is protected by a dedicated fuse located in the engine compartment junction unit.
On this version, the vehicle is equipped with an additional, independent Webasto heating system, consisting of a fuel burner that works independently of the engine, allowing both the passenger compartment and the engine components to be heated rapidly.
This additional heating system is available in two versions:
-
Automatic version. The system is activated, if the outside temperature conditions require its activation, when the engine is turned on and is automatically deactivated when the correct operating temperature is reached.
-
Programmable version. The system can be programmed, using a timer in the dashboard, to be activated before the vehicle is actually used.
The activation of the system with the key in the OFF position or completely extracted, involves the automatic activation of the passenger compartment fan at the second speed in order to distribute the heat evenly.
