The vehicle is equipped with numerous light sources for optimal lighting of interior instruments and controls.

Some of these are lit with the ignition key MAR-ON (INT), others with the side lights on, others can be dimmed in accordance with a rheostat controlled adjustment logic managed by the Body Computer.

The Body Computer manages the lighting - with the side lights on - of:

• cigar lighter and current socket;

• radio display (aftermarket versions only);

• backlighting and climate control system controls.

The Body Computer manages the dimmed lighting of the instrument panel with the display.

If the side lights are deactivated, the display is 100% lit up and the brightness cannot be adjusted (dimmed). The adjustment is only possible with the exterior lights on. When the external lights are activated, the brightness of the displays is automatically dimmed to a pre-set level and the graphics and indicators light up.

There are 8 different possible settings for the brightness of the panel and lighting of the interior of the passenger compartment in general using the "Mode +" and "Mode -" buttons in the panel on the left side of the steering wheel.

The lighting level cannot be turned down to zero and the warning lights cannot be adjusted.

The dimming value is transmitted by the instrument panel via the CAN to allow the lighting level value to be sent to the other control units.

All the other controls are lit up when the ignition is on (INT).

The function is managed by the Body Computer and the individual lines are protected by a fuse located inside it.
