If the diesel electronic injection system control unit is being replaced, before it is removed, an Examiner must be connected and the "Replace Control unit" procedure must be launched (this operation recovers the data referring to the Engine Oil wear status and stores it in the new control unit). If the outcome of this procedure is negative, the Engine Oil and Filter must be replaced as there is no record of historical data.

For this reason once the replacement has been completed, the "Engine Oil Replacement" function must be updated using the Examiner diagnostic instrument set to the mode for the specific engine management control unit.
